WHAT’S WITH THE DEAD TREE?

A christian who doesn’t drop roots in good soil and then participate in the watering, feeding, activity, and rest required for healthy growth will die and become nothing but a hollow and empty stump, offering nothing back in worship of the God who created them, nor are they able to digest anything offered to them that they may be sustained.

Our tree will be in worship each week during our season of growth through faithful stewardship. As we commit to healthy growth, we will complete the appropriate Growth Card, keeping one section so we can remember what we committed to, placing one section on the altar, and placing the leaf portion of the Growth Card on the tree.

Our relationship with God and God’s people will come to life in new and exciting ways as our tree will come to life, birthing hundreds of green leaves.

WHO PARTICIPATES?
If you have a pulse and you can breath in and out all day long, God has an expectation of your participation in the life of his church and within the lives of his children.
This pulse-having, breath-taking population would include:

  • Youth & Adult Members of Mighty Wind UMC – When we join the church, we commit to faithful to God through our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.
  • Children - Children are the present and future of the church. It’s important we help them form healthy spiritual habits and deep roots now.
  • Guests - We’d love to become your church family but if you already have a church home, we encourage you to participate fully in your worship with us and use the Growth Cards as a commitment in your growth through your other faith family.
