Our mission is to help men grow closer to Christ so they may have a fulfilling life, and through work, fellowship, and accountability, they may have it more abundantly.
The simple revolution is here. From the iPod design to Google’s uncluttered homepage, simple ideas are changing the world. Multi-awarded #1 national bestseller Simple Church guides Christians back to the simple gospel-sharing methods of Jesus. No bells or whistles required. Based on case studies of 400 American churches, Thom Rainer and Eric Geiger prove the disciple-making process is often too complex. Simple churches thrive by taking four ideas to heart: Clarity. Movement. Alignment. Focus. Join the men at Butch Snyder’s home (87 Spindrift Trail, KH), Monday night’s at 7:00pm, as we discuss and discern what this text means for our personal ministry as well as the local church’s. Vision is a preferred future. A destination. According to author Andy Stanley, Visioneering is “a clear mental picture of what could be, fueled by the conviction that it should be.” With warm, down-to-earth practicality, Andy Stanley explores the ordinary life of Nehemiah and his God-given vision for accomplishing the extraordinary. He shows how the life of this great ancient visionary, determined to rebuild the ruined walls of Jerusalem, reveals principles that can prepare us to find and follow God’s multifaceted vision for our own lives. Beginning on January 31, our men’s group studied this text each Monday night from 7:00pm-8:30pm.
Our guys grilled up 72 hamburgers and 60 hotdogs, arranged multiple pasta and bean salads, as well as offered chocolate chip cookies to the OBX Daredevil after their game on July 13 versus the Peninsula Pilots. It was a heart-breaking loss but at least everyone ate well when the game was over. The teams appreciated the eats and I even heard one of the Pilot’s mention that the OBX is the best place to play because they have the best food.
We got together and watched a few of the matches in this year’s World Cup at Brenda Thacker’s house (thanks Brenda!!) It was a wonderful tournament that saw the US team make it into the round of 16. With four more years until the next World Cup, Brenda will have plenty of time to prepare more chicken wings and finger foods.
