As women undergo cancer treatments, many experience the difficult side effect of hair loss. To help restore dignity and simply keep a head warm, our Women’s Ministry gather to cut fabric and sew turbans to be distributed to local, regional, and state cancer treatment facilities for women who need them.
If you know how to use a pair of scissors, then you will be able to help make hats for those who are battling cancer! If you are able to sew, we would love for you to bring the gift God has given you in sewing (and possibly your sewing machine) to help sew the patterns into hats. Join us for a night of fun and fellowship as we help others in a time of great need.
On February 27 we had a pot luck meal followed by making turbans, bandannas and headbands for those with cancer or other illnesses that may benefit from the gift of headcover. Many people have been impacted by cancer in different ways, have been grateful for what this ministry has been able to do for them. 149 different pieces of headcover were made and await distribution. If you would like headgear or know of someone who may, please contact the church office (252-441-9022). We will send them any place they are needed.
